Mission Statement

Cicada Shell Press was created because I got tired of seeing trans voices in literature dismissed, ignored, or censored for palatability sake. Combine that with the fact I already had some experience making zines and/or protype literary journals with local friends and community members and I decided that I was going to do my best to help create a literary magazine for trans writers and artists by trans-writers and artists.  The overall goals for this literature journal is to make it an accessible space where trans authors of all experiences levels can have their work highlighted.
